I don’t think Hanania is advocating on policing the right *because it’s too right*. It’s much more about policing the right for being irrational.

And how does Haywood square his claim of the left doing “no policing to the left” with how Bernie is treated? For example, by Hillary’s 2016 campaign? Or the media questioning how he’d pay for universal health care or how much he is charging for his books? Perhaps he is correct when it comes to social issues. And, of course, the left does far, far more policing in general.

Possibly the least reflective and most hysterical guest so far.

You should have had more detailed and pressing follow ups on the Henrich and elves issues imo.

I follow Charles on Goodreads and I think he's a really far out smart guy. His burn-it-all-to-the-ground philosophy and "everything is absolutely awful" premise are unhinged and untethered from reality -- I am not sure who peed in his Wheaties. Life on Earth has literally never been easier, deaths of despair and difficulties incurred by single moms notwithstanding. Steven Pinker might be a lot of things, but I think he at minimum attempts to be intellectually honest, drawing at length from "conservative" Thomas Sowell. I'm going to give 7 billion or so humans the benefit of the doubt that they want to continue to live and that we should not, for the supposed benefit of their future, somehow press the "Eject" button on civilization and kill everyone currently living.

Anti-suffragist - talk about living in a fantasy! I think that’s true descriptivist and normatively. The only plausible path would be to circumvent our democracy, likely with force. To be fair, he merely said such a system is “legitimate” and he didn’t say it was “feasible”. But I don’t see how you can possibly make that claim either, without believing silly things about women’s rationality and the importance of their preferences.

But his take on power is a good one. The claim “it’s all about power” is wrong in almost every use case.
